Skrea Backe Destilleri is a small-scale craft distillery in Falkenberg, Halland. We produce gin, aquavit, glögg, and fruit and grape spirits, with a focus on craftsmanship, flavour and carefully selected ingredients.
We're located at Skrea Backe just outside Falkenberg in Halland. We're based in an old stone barn together with Skrea Matbruk and Paula Atelier.
Yes, we make a gin-glögg based on Swedish apple must, simmered with Christmas spices and blended with our oak-aged gin. It's a seasonal product, so availability can vary.
On our website you'll find loads of cocktail recipes, and a lot of drinks are actually pretty easy to make. Often all you need is some kind of sugar syrup, lemon or lime juice, and gin or aquavit to make a huge range of recipes.
Yes, we produce aquavit at our distillery in Falkenberg. Our range includes both a regular aquavit and selected seasonal or special editions.
Dry Gin and Ocean Strength Gin are two different gins with their own flavour profiles and strengths. You can read more about their ingredients, character and how best to serve them on each product's page.
We make gin, aquavit, gin-glögg (mulled wine), and various fruit and grape spirits. Our range includes both regular products and limited editions that vary with the season.
Without a doubt our Dry Gin and our Glögg. Our Dry Gin has been among the 15 best-selling Swedish gins at Systembolaget since 2022.
Dry Gin is our best-selling product and a core part of our regular range. We also produce other gin varieties and limited editions.
We use as many Swedish ingredients as we can, but many botanicals used in gin and aquavit are hard, and sometimes impossible, to source domestically. We always use 100% Swedish organic base spirit, and products like our Summer Gin contain significantly more Swedish ingredients.
Farm sales mean that small-scale, handcrafted wine, spirits, beer and cider can be sold in limited quantities directly to visitors on site at the producer — but only as part of a paid guided visit, not like an ordinary shop.
We start the evening with a tour of the distillery, where we talk about the distilling process and how our products are made. After that, we hold a gin tasting right next to the copper still, diving deeper into each of our products and what makes them unique.
It varies a bit by month, but generally we hold tastings 2-3 weekends a month, on Fridays and Saturdays. During summer, from week 28-32, we hold tastings 4-6 days a week.
There's a bus to Skrea Kyrka, about 1km from us — route 351 towards Halmstad, get off at the Skrea Korsväg stop. Alternatively, bus number 2 goes to Skrea IP, about 1.2km away.
There are two restaurants in the same family as us — Prostens Pizza and Skrea Matbruk. Skrea Matbruk is in the same barn and is almost always open whenever we're holding a tasting.

We can't name them all, but you'll find us in restaurants across Sweden — from Malmö in the south to Funäsdalen in the north, as far as we know.
