Marsten Akvavit

An akvavit made to celebrate five years of Skrea Backe Destilleri — a distillate carrying both our history and the winds off the sea.

Marsten Akvavit is spiced with classic notes of caraway, lemon and coriander, whose balance makes for a fresh, elegant akvavit with real character. After distillation it rested in a French cognac cask, which lends a soft roundness and subtle hints of vanilla and oak.

The story goes that the cask was then taken on a journey around Marsten, the little rocky island off Falkenberg, where the sea air and the movement of the water left their mark on the spirit. The result is an akvavit with depth, complexity and an unmistakable sense of the salt-sprayed soul of the west coast.
